Where do you get parts?

Rebuilding a care requires parts

Some parts are easy. Engine parts are often available of the shelf. Other parts, especially for a niche car like VW Polo, are less easy. I was lucky to be able to still buy some parts at VW Classic parts at the time, which by now would be impossible.

Also, given an extensive netwerk, I could aquire several parts. But most things you find in far away scrapyards after a tip. Sometimes removing them in the middle of snow and freezing temperatures as you want to make sure you don’t lose the parts.

Where they all needed?
No, of course not. That is how it goes.

Aquired so far (forgetting more then half probalby)
– A GT steering wheel (yes, thats different)
– A NOS GT Button for the steering wheel
– An undamaged red lined GT cover for the clockwork
– Two front spoilers
– Two additional boot covers with the special fabric layer
– A set of door covers without water damage
– A set of 5,5J Golf GTI wheels that will be painted the signature red and black
– A NOS GT Gearnob
– A new backlid cover inside for the window wiper
– Original back seatbelts (V-shaped) from VW with holders for the Polo 1

And much more… Which I will remember once I start opening boxes….

Missing to date:
– The inside plastic covers for the B-pillar
– A NOS, undamaged, front bumper in grey with black stripe.

If you have those: you know where to find me.
